A Syrian in Auschwitz: “the ennobling slogan “Never Again” is actually a lie.”

Where humans are exterminated, even if no witnesses remain, the places have memory. The Auschwitz barracks today stand as witness to the murder of more than a million innocent souls. The many Assad regime detention camps in Syria are witnesses, too. The walls of the Syrian regime prisons hold the last breaths, fears, and screams of those tortured to death. Many prisoners carved their names onto them before they disappeared forever…

Will Syrians ever be able to stop the violence, end the killing, and punish the criminals? I am not sure. But I am sure of this: We may not be able to force our governments to find a political solution to end the Syria crisis, but we certainly can welcome more vetted refugees into our communities. We can help them start over and rebuild their lives without fear, death or destruction. We can prevent a large-scale Voyage of the Damned.

The Trump Insurgency

Those who think that the Trump Phenomenon will end with a defeat in November are wrong. Trump is already planning for this possibility by claiming that the elections will be rigged. Now, by withholding support to Paul Ryan and John McCain in their reelection bids, he seems to be sending a message to GOP leadership that he intends to shake things up in the Party. Should he lose the upcoming elections, Trump will spend the next 4 years vying for control of the Party, in the hope of running for the high office again in 2020 or even 2024. Or, he will be paving the way for one of his “kids” to do so. First and foremost, Trumps’ move comes as a takeover bid of the Republican Party; the presidency, even if this was not the plan to begin with, seems second on the list. Whatever the case may be, Trump will not go gently into any good night, and his is not a passing phenomenon. Let’s remember here that Hitler lost his first bid to take over power in Germany, but that didn’t stop him.

Once the green areas are connected, the siege of Aleppo is effectively broken, and rebels will be able to deliver humanitarian aid to the besieged population of over 300,000. The rebels are conducting this operation on their own with no support from external powers, and, if we are to believe this report from the ground, while being bombed by the international anti-IS coalition.

The Khan-Trump Showdown Continues

Captain Khan’s Commander in Iraq: ‘The Khan Family Is Our Family’ ”The fallen captain’s troops say they did not know Humayun Khan was Muslim, only that he was a patriot and a protector. And his commander has a message for Trump.”
Khizr Khan Smeared As A Terrorist For Speaking Out Against Donald Trump “The man whose son sacrificed his life serving the U.S. military is facing accusations that he’s tied to the Muslim Brotherhood.”
Khans show no low is too low for Trump: Max Boot. “The GOP nominee professes his love for veterans, but he has a long history of disrespecting them.”

An IS-Listicle: Their Reasons for Hating Us: Prepare to be heartwarmed.

1. Because you are disbelievers. 2. Because you are liberal. 3. Because some of you are atheist. 4. For your crimes against Islam. 5. For your crimes against Muslims. 6. For invading our lands

The order in which the reasons were listed was not haphazard:

"What’s important to understand here is that although some might argue that your foreign policies are the extent of what drives our hatred, this particular reason for hating you is secondary, hence the reason we addressed it at the end of the above list. "The fact is, even if you were to stop bombing us, imprisoning us, torturing us, vilifying us, and usurping our lands, we would continue to hate you because our primary reason for hating you will not cease to exist until you embrace Islam."

Red Line Crossed, Again

Russian officials wanted us to believe that the military Copter was carrying humanitarian aid. Such is the strength of their belief in humanitarianism, they backed a dictator committing genocide and now they seek to avenge their fallen comrades by committing more war crimes.

In 2013, the BBC found strong evidence suggesting residents of Saraqeb were subject to a chemical attack by government helicopters, something denied by the Syrian authorities. (BBC)
